Are you curious to explore the nature around Umeå - from the water and hiking? Follow along a beautiful canoe-trip on calm waters, sleep outdoors and hike along a wonderful nature trail.

Trip description

We will meet at Norrlands universitetssjukhus bus stop on Saturday morning and take the bus to Bjurholm together. There, we will get into the canoes and paddle down the river. After a day on the water including some stops for lunch and fika, we exit in Agnäs. This is where we will hand back the boats, have dinner and build up our tents for the night. Sunday morning, we will head out for a hike back to Bjurholm, enjoy nature and be back at IKSU in the afternoon.

Please be aware that costs for transportation as well as equipment (tent etc.) are not included. Equipment can be rented from our rental store Sarek after the pre-meeting.

Prerequisites
You need to be able to swim. Also, participants need to be able to hike around 15 km and carry their own gear in a backpack (this includes heavier gear such as tent, stove and food).

Equipment

During the pre-meeting we go through all equipment and make eventual adjustments of the packing list, for example depending on the weather.

Much of the equipment is available for rental in our outdoor shop Sarek. As a participant you get a reduced price.
