Place: Hemavan
Price: 2250 SEK

Trip description

The trip starts early Friday morning. We plan to travel together by public transport, so we’ll meet outside the University Hospital ready for deprature. The bus ride takes about six hours. Once we arrive in Hemavan, we’ll take the gondola up, strap on our skis, pulks, and backpacks, and ski at a pleasant pace to our planned base camp for the weekend. We cook dinner together and then enjoy spending the night outdoors.
On Saturday we’ll pack a daypack with fika, lunch and make a day trip in the area. When we return to the basecamp from a good day, hopefully in the sun, we will make dinner together. On Sunday, we’ll pack up our tent camp and head back towards civilization and home. The return journey takes us down along the Kungsleden trail before we hop on the bus back home. We expect to be back in Umeå around 10 PM to make the most of our time in the mountains on Sunday!
At the mandatory pre-departure meeting on Tuesday before the trip, we’ll go through packing and winter camping tips, share advice on staying warm, answer questions, and get to know each other. There will also be time to rent gear from Sarek, the outdoor equipment shop.
